Dollar Tree Customers: “It’s Still a Great Deal!”

The verdict’s in: Dollar Tree customers are loving all the new finds. The company is seeing an overwhelmingly positive customer response to the wider range of offerings in stores as a result of the company’s pivot to its new $1.25 price point.

Recent consumer research shows 77 percent of shoppers were already aware of the new pricing and 91 percent reported they would continue to shop the store with the same — or even increased — frequency.

“Our merchants have proven that they are among the best in the industry through their hands-on approach that creates extreme value and consistently delivers the ‘thrill-of-the-hunt’ to our customers every day,” stated Michael Witynski, Dollar Tree President and CEO.

Customers were enthusiastic about the upgrades on social media, echoing the positive feedback the company heard in its initial testing phase. Some highlighted the consistent value: “$1.25 is still worth it” and “it’s still a great deal!” Others focused on the range of products: “great selection, great price.”

As part of the recent changes, the retailer — beloved by consumers for easy splurges and “extreme value” on everyday finds — recently introduced hundreds of new products across many of its most popular categories, including daily essentials, grocery and household items, as well as the holiday décor, seasonal items, craft and party supplies, and kitchenware the stores are known for. Some of the top expanded categories include:

Party Supplies for Birthdays, Bridal Showers, and More

Party supplies

Long considered an unbeatable value for party supplies for everything from serveware and tableware to balloons (all available in a range of colors and themes), Dollar Tree says it’s now able to offer even more products and sizing variety.

With the recent expansion of the Crafter’s Square® section, stores now have a dedicated space for crafting enthusiasts, featuring paints and canvases, metal and wood crafts, craft vinyl, beads, stickers and washi tape, and so much more — as customers’ DIY projects continue to drive engagement across Instagram, Facebook, and other social media platforms.

On-Trend Organization

Organization

As the home organizing trend shows no sign of slowing down, Dollar Tree offers an extensive selection of food storage containers, as well as bins and baskets of every shape and size in trendy colors that change with the season.

After successful initial testing and an extremely positive customer response last fall, the company plans to complete the rollout to all Dollar Tree stores early this year. In addition to broadening the product assortment across all categories, the new price point allows the company to bring back customer favorites that were previously discontinued.

“Lifting the one-dollar constraint represents a monumental step for our organization and we are enthusiastic about the opportunity to meaningfully improve our shoppers’ experience and unlock value for our stakeholders,” Witynski added. “Guided by Dollar Tree’s same founding principles, we will be relentless in our commitment to offer our customers the best value possible.”
